Every summer we host a fantastic Holiday Club for children aged 5 – 11 years.
We have time together singing songs, doing challenges, hearing Bible stories and scoring points for our teams. Then we go into smaller groups for outdoor games, crafts and have a snack break. At the end of the week we celebrate together with a bigfamily BBQ in the church garden.
Our theme on 2025 was ‘Bible Detectives’ as we tried to learn more about the Bible – the books of the Bible, the different genres and different stories from the Bible. We met with ‘Detective Delilah’ who shared what she had learned about from the Bible. She also gave the children daily challenges of looking
for jigsaw pieces which made up our memory verse, and also to look for more books of the Bible each day so that our ‘Bible Bookcase’ could be completed by the end of the week. We heard the story of Creation and The Fall, about Jonah running away from God, about the life, death and resurrection of Jesus, and about how Saul met with Jesus and became a changed person, even changing his name from Saul to Paul.
