Worship

Worship

St Andrew’s holds a variety of styles of worship, from the formal to the more informal, from traditional to modern.  We hope that during the course of a month you will find a style and a home for yourself amongst us.

You will find a warm welcome at any of our services the moment you step through the door. Someone will be there to greet you and to show you to a seat if you are not familiar with how church works.

Our services differ in style. At 9.00am we alternate between A Service of the Word which is a said service with no music, and a Service of Holy Communion ( a reminder of the meal Jesus shared with his disciples) using a modern liturgy with prayers, a bible reading and a talk. The service lasts no longer than 45 minutes, and you can expect between 25-30 people in attendance. Coffee is served between the two services in the foyer.

Our 10.30am service differs from week to week hosting either a Service of Holy Communion, or an informal all age style of worship or a more relaxed time of sung worship and sharing. This service lasts for approx an hour to and hour and 15 mins and you can expect around 80-90 people to be joining you.

Do come and join us, we look forward to welcoming you.

If you are not able to join us physically, then why not listen to one of our service recordings.

During the Week

Worship isn’t just a Sunday activity, it something we should engage with everyday of the week.  Spending time with God, as we seek to develop and grow in our relationship with him.

There are a great number of ways we can do this, but at the heart of this is Prayer and Reading God’s word.  Doing this in a way that helps us to listen to him and to speak with him will enable us to discern his will for our lives and to grow in love for him.

On the Church of England website you can use the following link to establish the regular habit of daily prayer and bible reading, or you can download it as an app on your mobile or tablet device.
