Safer Recruitment

The Diocese of Rochester’s policy of Safer Recruitment ensures that all volunteers and paid workers complete the paperwork which includes providing two referees, a confidential declaration and, if they meet the set criteria, undergoing a DBS check. No one can start as a volunteer at a St Andrew’s group or club with children, young people or adults at risk of harm without going through the Safer Recruitment process. New volunteers are given a code of conduct to follow to ensure safer working practices.
