It is wonderful indeed to confirm that Rev. Mark Montgomery has started his ministry at St Andrew’s, following his licensing service on Monday 26 January.
Mark starts his ministry with us as “Priest-in-Charge” but will be ‘installed’ as our Vicar at the 10.30 service on Sunday 22 March.
The service was led by the Right Rev. Simon Burton-Jones, Bishop of Tonbridge, and we were honoured by the very large number of well-wishers who attended to celebrate Mark’s arrival at St Andrew’s.

Mark writes: “I am looking forward to joining the established team in St Andrew’s at an exciting time of its ministry and mission as the town expands and being part of what God, through Jesus and the Holy Spirit is already doing in the church and town.
I am passionate about mission, new forms of worship, community engagement, new housing and developing and nurturing people into who God has created them to be. I have interests in the intersections between faith and sport, including being chaplain to the local Cricket Club and new forms of worship.
Sport is a big part of my life, I currently enjoy running (marathons!), cycling and playing cricket, where I’m also a qualified umpire. As well as being a passionate Liverpool fan, I have a keen interest in NFL and all forms of pro-cycling. As a family we enjoy following Liverpool Women’s and Men’s teams, the theatre and meals out.”

A Prayer of Thanks for our new Vicar:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for sending us a new vicar to guide and bless our community. Fill Mark with Your Holy Spirit, wisdom, and a gentle heart to lead us with love and serve Your people well. May we receive Mark with open hearts and work together to spread Your message. Amen.
