For the 5th year in a row we are invited to set aside time between Ascension Day and Pentecost to pray that God’s Kingdom “might come, on earth as it is in heaven.” Its a familiar prayer and one that many people pray each day, but do we really mean it?
This last year has for so many been difficult and challenging, as we have watched the headlines, heard of friends and family suffering, and had our lives restricted. People have looked elsewhere to find hope, and in a recent poll 23% of the population have looked to online church streaming for comfort and answers. This is surely a great opportunity to build on the experiences of people who are already engaging with us.
TKC this year is encouraging us to pray for “The Lost”, like the famous parables Jesus tells in Luke 15. For those who have never heard the ‘good news’ of Jesus, and those who have wandered away. We are encouraged again to pray for 5 people we know to come to faith or to come back to faith, and you don’t have to wait until Ascension Day to start praying for them!
Due once again to the uncertainty of restriction TKC 2021 has produced a number of digital resources to support our times of prayer and to feed us through this season.
