Advice Surgery

What is the Advice Surgery?

It's a free, confidential, opportunity to discuss your concerns and seek advice and support from a variety of local organisations. Initially, representatives from Town & Country Housing Association, our local Police and (as part of a pilot programme) West Kent Debt Advice will be on hand.

A lot of information about local organisations in our community is already available in a folder below the leaflet rack in the porch at St Andrews. These range from groups that support people living with addiction, to local transport providers, and, of course, the CAB. But at each surgery someone will also be on hand to help anyone looking for information about other organisations.

Who can visit the Surgery?

Everyone, and anyone in our parish, not just those who attend St Andrew's, or visit the Church for a social event or drop off children for one of the many youth activities.

No appointment is required, just drop in. If it's busy you may need to wait, but the Fair Trade shop is open for browsers and buyers, and tea and coffee are available if you fancy a drink.

Where and When is it held?

On the first Wednesday of every month, between 10am and noon in the Wallis Room

Is there anything I can do to help?

Over the coming months we would like to respond to the needs of our community by finding out what the residents of Paddock Wood would find helpful and trying to meet these needs where possible - this could be more representatives at the Surgery itself or small groups meeting at a different time. Some suggestions already made include: basic computer skills and support for those seeking work.

If you are interested in supporting this project from organising the refreshments, to using your adult education teaching skills, please contact the Church office.

Just as importantly if you have any suggestions for additional services or organisations that we could try to involve, please let us know.
